Oh Yea it's a hemi!!!!

Post by fourforty6pac » Sat May 19, 2007 11:22 am

This morning I get a call from a buddy. He says " dude do you want a hemi for your mopar"? Well now after all the crap that went on during the last few weeks I am basiclly tapped out so I tell him theres no way I can afford that. But he persisted and said I can afford this one. It turns out that this is a 392, but it is complete and has alot of extra parts. Heres the kicker I can get it for $300 I almost crapped my shorts when I was told the price. A pretty good deal huh. A few years ago I located a load of parts for his hemi challenger and he made a pretty penny when he sold it. He said he is just paying me back.
I'm thinking about putting it in my 72 GTX clone. What do you guys think? Or I could put it in a 70 dart that I have sitting in my pole barn up north. Has anyone put one of these in thier b body? Thanks.

I've never put a 392 in a b- OR a-body, but a 392 for $300 is a SCORE!

I'd love to have one to build a rat rod around... :D

I think it wll be alot of work to still be able to use the air grabber. And what about the 4 speed and linkage? I wonder if I could get it all lined up so the shifter will fit in the console. I dont want to hack up this car at all, it's so clean. I'll probably put the hemi in the dart It's only a I6 but it is 100% rust free, and I think that little thing would really scoot with a 392 in it. I dont mind hacking up a dart they still out there in numbers and if you get lucky the seller wont be on the mr norm band wagon yet. I dont think I could bring myself to the point of hacking up a b body (they are soooo purdy). As soon as I get that 392 I will Post some pics. It will be a couple of weeks I got alot to catch up on after these last few weeks.

What is the motor out of, brand wise?? Plymouth, Dodge, or Desoto??

Over 20 some odd years ago, I had a chance to buy a 71 Roadrunner with a 392 Hemi in it. Didn't buy it, cuz I could see spending $2500 on a car that was over 10 years old....whats that saying about your behind being 20/20?? :D
