I gave the numbers of the vin that I have on this car to be checked by my local police , and it came up not stolen. So that is positive to say the least ! So with the help of the nest , I have figured out two additonal things 1: the holes in the rear quarter absolutely line up the way there suppposed to for a roadrunner moniker , and without a "boom dampener " in the tranny tunnel that this car was almost assuredly a 383 car . the only remaining question is whether this car did or did not have abuddy seat , as this is definetley a bucket seat car , but did not have the setup for floor shift automatic . My next question is did they make a columnshift car with buckets and no buddy seat.

Yes...They made Bucket RR's without Buddy Seat or Console.....
Just a nice strip of carpet.

not a runner

Post by scottish440 » Sun Feb 18, 2007 8:14 pm

well... it seems absurd to us now... that someone would put together a
roadrunner and a satellite....and not title it a RR...

But you know back in the day many people wanted a satellite...for
various reasons.....I have a SSP that has so many options it surely
had to have cost the buyer more than a GTX...who knows what they were
thinking then....?

maybe Granny wrecked her SSP and the body shop guy used
his deadbeat sons RR to rebuild it with....??

You have a nice car no matter what!

I think also back in the day people would pay more in insurance because if it was a roadrunner it was considered a sports car. 8)

Actually I had to re-register under what was supposed to be old yella ,but the resto is moving along nicely and I had pics but also had trouble with photo bucket and flicker, by the way merry Christmas to all.
