Hello all, I'm new here. Great year/model-specific web site. I usually hang over at moparchat. Just wanted to introduce myself. I own a '73 Roach with a 440 + four-speed, but originally the car had a 400. It cosmetically looks all right, but still have some ways to go mechanically. The car is mint green with the "Halloween" interior option, stock. Gross, huh?

Hey glad you found this place. I think it's easier to start with a nice body and work on the mechanical part.

My 71 is a major project but on the road at least.

Got any pictures?

Dude, that's so true! It took me years to realize that. I used to have a '70 Super Bee (my first big block car, a 383) and it ran great with a rebuilt suspension, but I always hated it because it was primered and the left rear quarter panel was bashed in so hard, it looked "crooked" going down the road. Years and years of experience told me that I could handle almost anything mechanical, but bodywork costs and I don't know how to do it. I'll try to find/post pics and put it under members' rides or something.

Sorry about the long delay, but I finally found some pictures. These are interior shots from when my car was on E-bay, not any I have taken, so they're not the greatest.

I don't know much about this so-called Halloween interior. It's not orange/black (what I thought a Halloween interior would be), but black/white. Normally I would have just thought that someone did a T.J. job on the seats and it's supposed to be all-white vinyl as is common, but the previous owner mentioned that someone told him it was the Halloween interior option. It looks like someone just re-did the seats in black/white with piping.

The seat part of my buckets is cloth and has built-in seat cushions for the front buckets. Weren't all factory buckets ALL vinyl? Has anyone ever seen these seat cushions (note the front bucket in the bottom photo). It's only where your back goes when you sit down, not at the seat.

Any chance that the extra back pad is stock, but was just recovered in cloth?

Thats not a stock interior, but its not bad. I never was a fan of custom interiors in classic cars. I had a couple cars that I let a friend who was learning upholsetery do, the first one was pretty ugly but after he learned the trade he could he was able to put together some really sweet custom stuff. It was a low cost way to have a nice interior that wasnt ripped to shreds. Now I just buy the seat covers and do it myself, its not too hard and you dont need many tools to do it. Got any pics. of the exterior. Pistol grip cars are so cool.

Believe me, if I can confirm the pillow buns are not stock, they are so gone! I will just order a stock set from Legendary. But I'm afraid of erasing history. I know it may have been recovered in cloth where it should be vinyl, but just need to know if anyone has seen the extra back pads that these seats exhibit.

I like the color of your car....i had a 73 dart sport that color...it was badly faded...
and we finally convinced ourselves to repaint it the same color....turned out
to be a real head turner....lots of comments on the color....it is in my top 5 of favorite colors

take care scott

Yeah, it's Mint Green, a paler version of Lime Light/Sublime. In fact, I don't even know if it's close. It's actually a cool color, although when I took it to work, under the night sky, a lot of people thought it was white! I'm sure it's a little faded and if I repainted it, it would be really enjoyable, but I may just paint it black in the end. Which is never, because funds don't permit.
