Seat backs question

Post by wehtiko » Tue Jul 04, 2006 9:52 pm

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to order seat backs for my 71 Sebring. There was two style of seat backs in 71 (Year One separates the early and later style with the date 12/1/70) and although I know the built date of my car, I'm not sure these are the seats that came with the car.

Does anyone of you know how to tell them apart? I've called The Paddock and they said the only way they can tell me which one to order is by the built date of my car. I've posted pictures of the seat backs in my car and a picture of the part number found on the back. If you're having a hard time reading the part number it reads like this:

3594 221
23730

Thank you.

I've had to post a reply for the picture of the part number since there is a limit of 2 attachments per post

they look like the later 71 style to me, cuz the earlier ones had shorter hinge covers and were more square, right???

Those are the later style. The early style have a bigger (longer) release button, and the plastic seat back does NOT come down over the hindges. The early style uses separate hindge covers, made of metal.
