What were the main changes done to the 383 in 1971 compared to earlier models in the Roadrunner line-up since 1968?
My roadrunner has one of the last 383's ever produced. I have a 440 and spare 383, and am holding myself back from putting in a 440 or 383 stroker.
How were these engines as overall performers (Pros and Cons)? I want to keep the motor's "stock appearance" ie hi-po manifolds etc. May be able to make an aluminum manifold appear stock.
Did 1971 383's come with forged bottom ends (crank, rods, pistons)?

Re: Roadrunner 383 history?
1970 was the last year for the forged cranks. There where the leftovers that got put in the early 71 cars. I think most of the big block rods are the same except for the 6pac motors.
