We had a car towed into our shop the other day, and I happened to have driven my Road Runner that day. The tow truck driver asked who it belonged to. When I mentioned it was mine he said there's one in the impound/storage lot back at base and had been sitting for years. He said he thought it was a Satellite but wasn't sure if it was 3rd or 4th gen. They were kind enough to let me go take a look, and it's a rusty 73 Runner. It's pretty complete though a bit rough. Floors are gone, quarters got lots of filler. Seats and interior are all there, but the console's gone. The Rallye dash is there complete with clock. It's a 318 car. I think it has great parts car potential. I had been really hoping it was an A/C car but alas it's not. Doesn't matter, parts cars are worth their weight in gold. Apparently the owner had been paying storage but disappeared lately. I'm hoping I can grab this thing.

meh, i disagree with anyone putting more money in the car than it's really worth...i've seen a couple people who said they were having theirs done at a shop (the whole project) at 70 plus an hour, minimum 1,000 hours...that's 70 grand for a 71 or 2 idr roadrunner...avg selling price is what...30-35? a fully-optioned GTX...maybe 50-60 TOPS imo...you can do MOST, if not all the work yourself (from my experience, just make sure you don't move to a place without a garage if you get snow) my car was painted at my friend's dad's house and it's not perfect, no...but while i had my garage still, the only problem with the paint/body was some orange peel
