Is there any online or photo guide to pulling the dash pad? I seem to recall something a while back in a magazine about an interior RR restoration (71 or 72) but I'm also needing to know what to pull to get to those bolts. Does the cluster need to come out?

Dash pad removal & swapping
My first 'tech' question in a while.

Well I just put a need dash pad in my 72 and well thats a pain and would recommend taking out the dash frame because the 2 end ones are impossible without it being taken out. I'll post pics of where the nuts are to get your dash pad out tormorrow by the one that was taken out

I replaced my pad this weekend
Hey, I replaced my dash pad and spurced up the dash frame this weekend. What a royal pain in the butt! Im glad it's finished. BTW.. I replaced the pad with one of Nick's Classics pads (group buy) The pad is really nice, looks great. Anyway the job is a pain...Particularly if you are going to respray the frame and detail all the little things. Have a friend with you when you remove the top four mounting screws/nuts and you lean it out. Also remove (not just lower) the entire steering column. Good luck.
dash
Best way is to remove the column first(lower it). There is four bolts holding the dash frame on. Once you remove the four bolts, with help from a friend, remove the dash assembly. Then, remove the dash itself from the frame.
OR go to Moparts.com Check out the tech page. Someone shows how to remove the dash frame with the dash on.
