Hood Mounted Turn Signals

Post by 72GY9Runner » Mon May 07, 2007 4:21 pm

Last question for the day, I promise. (fingers crossed)

What is the correct routing for the wires that go up to the hood mounted turn signals? It seems like there is enough wire to go around the engine compartment 50 times.

I don't plan on putting the hood insulation in at this time, so I'm hoping they didn't just stuff it under there.

I had done a search but the topics I found were more about which cars came with them on the hood.

I'll poke a little deeper and see if I find anything else.

If memory serves....correctly-- the A0-1 cars had those plug in by the front directionals.

Mine wasn't an a01 car so I just spliced in to the front directional wire inthe harness.

Hood Mounted Turn Signal Wiring Routing

Post by Ronnman » Sun May 13, 2007 1:58 pm

Dave,
I have a 71 Road Runner with the hood mounted turn signals. I beleive the routing to be original. The connector are the original and are falling apart. the wires run along the hood towards the brake booster where they connect to some round push in connectors. Anyway, I've attached a pic to show how they are routed. Hope this helps some.
