Question about L-19 Oil Filter

A friend of gave my two L-19 #3549957 oil filters he had for about 20 yrs. Will it work properly on a 1972 440 engine. The box says 1973 and up for all engines except 318, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't think I would install a twenty year old oil filter on a good engine, The price for a new filter is how much? 4.00-10.00? Sell the two old ones on E bay or use them for a display piece! Just Sayin :beer:

people will talk about how bad new filters are, but the really bad ones are the old ones...

Not to start an oil filter thread, But WIX filters are very good .I believe Napa Gold is made by Wix too. I think a New Mopar filter would be all right too. :beer:

Thanks for the comments. Your right, 20 years old should be used. I put them with the other mopar stuff.

I'll second that.
4th generation B bodys- there is no substitute.
