In the current market few old Mopes are "worthy" of restoration in strict dollars and cents terms. The exceptions to that would be wing cars, Hemi cars, certain converts, etc. So you have to ask if it's worth it to YOU. 340 4 speed cars are cool and not all that many were built. Numbers matching is a huge plus in it's favor...

Everything you mention, sheet metal, interior, parts are all available. That wasn't the case for these cars not all that long ago. FWIW, I drove mine while fixing it up AND have had it apart for a while building the new drivetrain, so I've done both scenarios. I'd only come out okay $$$-wise on my car because the entry price on it was so low 23 years ago... The alternating enjoyment/frustration/thumbs-up/challenges/gear-slamming euphoria I've gotten out of having it through the years? Priceless... wouldn't trade those times for anything.

Welcome to the Nest, good luck and let's see some pics!

The days of a positive return on your restoration investment are gone.

If you're going to restore it, it'll have to be a labor of love.

NICE 340 cars bring high 20's on the top end of the market.
