Re: removing the stripe ?
Do not use a razorblade...I think the best 2 ways to remove the stripe are as follows:
Heat Gun........Hold it near one end then try to get a fingernail under it.....gently start to pull the stripe back in a staright line (do not fold the stripe as it comes off. Once it is off then wash the area with a solvent to get the glue off by rubbing it in a circular pattern let it sit for a minute or 2 and the glue should become kinda gummy then wipe it of again in a circular pattern. Once the glue comes off with the solvent then wash the car to remove the solvent.
Or you can try using just a solvent it might disolve the glue enough to remove it cleanly.
Now remember I profess to only be a master of my own opinion so lets see if others in the nest agree or have alteratives measures.

Sometimes I get to feeling that if Xmas, Fathers Day and my Birthday did not exist, then aftershave too would not exist.

They also make a gummie rubber 'disk' that is designed to remover stripes and such without damaging paint. Sold at most auto-body supply stores.

Re: removing the stripe ?
I have used one of these. Works just like a pencil eraser. The heat gun can damage the paint if you get it to hot. Plus, if the stripe is hard and cracked, you will never be able to peal it off. It will just come off in pieces.

Re: removing the stripe ?
If the stripe isn't too old, a heat gun applying moderate heat can help peal the stripe loose in large pieces.
If the vinyl on the stripe is old and brittle, a heat gun won't work very well, but the eraser will. The erasers are primarily intended for pin strips though. Doing a large stripe will probably be very tedious.

Re: removing the stripe ?
Is the stripe bad or what? Just want to remove it? Or you could just leave it. I know I'd be toooo nervous to try and remove it for the sake of having to replace it
