Hey guys. My 71 SSP came as a basket case and I'm missing the acorn nuts for the side marker bezels. I thought I had found some on ebay that were correct, but they don't hold the bezels tight.
Anyone have a source for new ones or about 16 original ones?
Thanks,
Patrick

Are the nuts just a little short? Can you put a small washer on the stud first.

It will really get you mad when pay $16.00 for shipping and you receive it and it only cost $4.50 to ship it. It really made me mad and I will really think twice before purchasing anything further.

Sound like what people do on ebay to bump up their profits.

That vendor may be speedy to some but if you want acurate hardware, they are hard to beat. RT Specialties has provided the ice cream on the cake for me.

Hey Patrick, are you still there. I was just wondering, are you using gaskets under your bezels. Ron.

Yes. I'm using the gray paper paint gaskets on the outside and the white foam gaskets on the inside.

Ok, I was just wondering how far off they were. When I took my marker lights off (2 cars) I broke a couple of the studs. Lucky that I had eight bezels to choose from. If the nuts are for a different size diameter stud, I don't think I would use them. If they screw on alright and are just a tiny bit short, I would go with the washer. I was just looking through my hardware and found a couple of stainless ones that are the same diameter as the nuts with a big enough hole to fit over the studs. Unless someone looks at it with a magnifying glass you wouldn't notice it. Just my two cents. BTW, I put the nuts back on without any tools, as I didn't want to break anything and a few of the nuts took some doing to snug them.

I spoke to the gentleman about
http://www.rtspecialties.net/proddetail ... od=1002439
the shipping price is a non-issue as he says these are not correct. He says I need a thread cut nut, and these are machine cut nuts.
