I just took my Satellite in for body and paint! When I bought it all the emblems were in the trunk. Does anyone have pictures and measurements of the correct location for the "Plymouth" trunk emblem, and the three "Satellite Sebring" emblem sets? I have seen pictures online of the Plymouth emblem in different places on the trunk. I'd like to know which place is correct? Centered? Thanks!

Does this help? I've always wondered if the 71s had the Plymouth on the decklid. I only remember seeing 72s.

I'd like to know too. I just picked up an NOS Satellite badge. Can anyone measure distance to lip and right edge of decklid for placement?

I think I still have a Satellite emblem in the garage. If I use the high res version of this picture, and measure the actual height of the Satellite emblem, I should be able to calculate the distance from the bottom of the emblem to the bottom edge of the trunk lid - and from the top right corner of the g in Sebring to the right edge of the trunk lid. I should have time to do that Thursday evening. Scott.

Measured my spare emblem and its right at 1 inch from the top of the L's to the bottom of them. That gives right around 3/4" from the bottom of the emblems to the bottom edge of the trunk lid. Looks like from the top corner of the g in Sebring is about 7/8" from the right edge of the trunk lid. I have a spare Sebring emblem also, so leaving a 1/4" gap between the two emblems, I get an overall length of 8-7/8". Adding that 7/8" on the right side - that comes out to about 9-3/4" total from the first S in Satellite to the right edge of the trunk lid. I am sure that if you are within 1/8" to 1/4" of these measurements, that should be close enough. The factory workers that were slapping these babies on were not using micrometers - they probably had a template to just get 'er close.

Using this same method - knowing how long the Satellite Sebring emblems measure (8-7/8") - the estimated distance from the top corner of the g in Sebring to the edge of the door gap is about 1". The horizontal placement looks to be about 7/8" above the body line that goes over the rear wheel well.

Looks like my gold car measures up about the same as my blue car. The Satellite emblem looks to be right around 3/4" to 7/8" above the edge of the trunk lip. You can see the residue from my Plymouth emblem. If I remember correctly, the height of the letters in that emblem were right around 1/2". So it looks like the emblem is placed right around 1/2" above the top of the keyhole recess.

Scott - thank you! That research is pure gold my friend. And leaves no doubt considering the obvious signs of factory adhesive and emblem shadows. Thanks for taking the time. I assumed that only Sebring Plus emblems were placed on the quarter panels.

Yes, that was a topic I started a while back. Consensus on all of the survivor 71 Pluses that we could come up with - Satellite Sebring Plus emblems on the quarter panels, but only the Satellite Sebring emblems on the trunk lid.
