factory style radiator overflow in a 71

1st question: Is 100% of the reproduction parts required to install a factory style radiator overflow reservoir available? Mounting bracket, overflow reservoir etc..

2nd question: Has anyone adapted this specifically to a 71 (with horns still on engine side of core support)?

3rd question: Is an E-body application identical?

Thanks guys, I'd like this to look as factory as possible! :)

I believe the overflow on 71's was just the hose going to the driver side , then down to drain. No reservoir tank. I think those came in 73. Mine never had on and i didn't see any place for it. The only tank up in front was the washer reservoir on the passenger side next to the radiator.

Puke tanks were available in 71, but not every car got them. I used one off of a motorcycle, and hid it under the battery tray with just the fill neck showing.

That is a great idea 71bird! Was there room even with the vacuum reservoir?

Lol Road Chicken! I should have been more clear in my initial posting. This car is all 1971. I've been accepting the overflow to street for the last 24 years and am finally realizing there is an easier way than topping off the radiator after every warm day drive.

I see reproduction overflow tanks and brackets offered from YearOne and others and was curious if it is the same as was originally offered.

There were tanks as an option in 72 I am not sure I have ever seen a 71 with 1

I'm not sure as to the availability of of reservoirs for 71 but my intention is to make my 71 LOOK like it was a factory install by using the proper components.

OH. I have been working on that myself, but was using the 73 parts. I haven't seen a 72 bottle setup. I'll have to look for it. What I do know is gleaned from my 73 charger. That had the reservoir tank where the washer reservoir is now, The washer fluid was moved to the driver side inner fender just above the shock tower. I mounted up the tank in between the grill and radiator support and ran the hose through the access hole. However, it wasn't pretty and damn sure didn't look stock. but it worked. Good question, let us know what you come up with. Not all cars had the vacuum res under the battery. I assume you either have the strato-vent and/ or AC.

I might be wrong, but it is my understanding that if you had the 26" rad, that there wasn't room for the factory tank. And I don't know if the ones that are available today are correct looking. I installed a 26" rad, but still wanted a tank cause I didn't want water puking out every time I parked the car. The motorcycle tank works out just fine, and unless you look for it nobody can see it.

The 72 tank mounted next to the battery on 2 brackets attached to the upper radiator support and lower radiator mountning bolt

Ok, we're getting closer! If you have any photos of the radiator support brackets, I'd love to see them! Thanks in advance

Thank you very much for the link Moparlar! Fasinating stuff and can't imagine how rare those bottles are, especially the brackets. It seems there are (3) brackets total; (1) riveted to the bottle that overhangs the radiator, (1) to extend that bracket to the core support and (1) lower bracket that I still have yet to see.

The bracket riveted to the bottle came that way when you got the bottle. Here is a link of repo brackets.

Thanks for the link. The metal must be pretty rough if it is cast, I assume that is why he sprayed it with rubberized coating. Close as we can get I guess, kudos for that guy to go to that kind of trouble! I really like this set up that 72RoadRunnerGTX added to his car. There are (2) styles of aftermarket bottles out there right now. I'm not sure which one this is. The bracket doesn't quite look the same as the recent ones I've seen like from Classic Industries.
