Hi Team!

Just got an engine stand to mount my 440 onto so the panelbeater can spray the bay. I assume that the engine just bolts onto the stand via the transmission bellhousing bolt threads? What size are these bolts? I want to go buy some now so its all ready to go when the time comes!

Cheers in advance!

3/8-16 NC. Measure the depth of the tapped holes in the block. Add this to the depth of the engine stand mounting ears and subtract 1/8 or 1/4" to ensure it doesn't bottom out in the block. You could also use washers under the head of the bolt to achieve the same thing. Some guys use the (4) upper mounting holes of the block but I like to use the 2 bottom holes and the 2 upper holes. You'll have dig up a couple of washers and nuts for the bottom bolts if you go that route. I'd pick up (4) 3/8-16 nuts so you are done with the stand, reinsert your new "stand" bolts into the ears of the stand and fasten the nuts so the next time you need it you don't have to go through this again.
