who here is running one? How tall are those manifolds? did you have to cut or modify the base plate or did you just use a 440 one? I can't find any dimensions on height of these and was thinking about going this route...

Since the factory never produced a 383 6V, there are no 383 6V air grabber base plates. You'll have to use a 440 base plate.
440 (and 340) 4V air grabber base plates are shorter that 383 base plates. This being the case, I would expect you to have plenty of clearance with a 440 6V base plate on a 383, maaybe too much. It all comes down to manifold height though.

Thanks forgot that their was no 383 six pack bases! I can't find any dimensions on the height of the manifold, from the pictures it looks pretty tall, was hoping someone on here had tried this route already and can give thier feedback. I'm hoping its same size or smaller than the 440 oem one that way the airgrabber is still functional, I see they make spacers for the carbs, so if its smaller it wouldn't be a problem

Since you have a 383 it's not a raised block and you should have clearance. I have an original 383 6 pack (dealer installed) set up. I imagine that the intake is the same as whats available today (or is it ?). Not sure if Edelbrock still makes them. I can get you measurements if you need them.

I have the intake carbs and linkage. It's not on a engine or in a car. I bought it years ago but never used it. The main difference between the two is the factory setups have vacuum actuated secondary carbs and the one i have is all mechanical. I'll post a pic when i get a chance.
