fendertag options - I bought my 71 runner that was a 2 owner car. The guy I got it from stripped down most of the car got bored and had it sit in his garage since 1987. He said he had the tag but Unfortunatly I've looked through all the boxes time and time again and have not seen it. I'm still working on the car and am hopeful that it drops outta something when i go to install a part on the car. But in case it does come down to it, How can I get a fender tag for my car? All I have is the VIN on the dash, car doesn't have any build sheets either

Unless you can come up with a broadcast sheet or original purchase paperwork, I think you are out of luck. Keep searching and try to contact the previous owners to see if they have any original paperwork. Double check with the guy you purchased it from. A lot of times when a car is stripped down, the fender tag gets filed someplace "special" so it doesnt get lost - then it gets lost. Good luck.

I would much rather see a car with no fender tag than one that has a fake tag. You will not be able to accurately reproduce one without the original fender tag or broadcast sheet....don't even try if you can't find either of these. When I see a car with an incorrect tag, it brings the entire car into question in my mind. Enjoy your car for what it is!

I just wish I could find out what options the car originally came with

If the fender tag doesnt show up - you have a blank slate. Find the list of options for your car and order up your favorites! Make it like you want it. Good luck with whatever you decide! Scott.

Based on what I can tell and whats in the boxes is this:
383 4 speed console 3:91 suregrip
manual steering and brakes
front disks rear drums
it has am radio but it doesn't have a antenna or the hole in the pass fender for one (maybe someone swapped out the nonradio dash for one?)
slotted exhaust tips
Front bucket seats
B5 or Q5 blue?
driver side mirror only
steering wheel is the plain one, not a tuff or rim blow
someone planed on racing this car lol

Sounds like a cool car. Might be a little hard to stop, but thats half the fun of it.

How stripped down is the car? Is the interior intact? Did you look in the odious places for a build sheet? Rear seat, under the carpet and taped to the back of the glove box.

car was a rolling shell when i got it. Checked all the boxes 3-4 times over so far - I'm hoping I missed it. It would be interesting to see what it came with. Although I feel less guilty about modifying the car without it

its a pro-touring build - it has all hotchkis and firm feel parts on it with 13" rotors and viper calipers on the front and 12.19" wilwoods on the rear...you can see it here:
