I have a reproduction tach and wiring harnsess that I am installing in a 72 Roadrunner. I cannot find any information on where the harness comes through the firewall. If anyone has a picture of the location, that would be great. Thanks.

I checked with my friend today who restores Mopars. According to him. A '71 & '72 Road Runner if it came from the factory with a tach. The tach wire was part of the wiring harness that came out of the firewall into the engine compartment. The E-bodies came with a separate wire that was a separate plug through the firewall. Yeah, I know. Just what you didn't want to hear.

Does the harness you are using on the car have the factory tach? I guess not seeing the rant smilie. I'm not so sure of the firewall wire on the Chally. I think both came through the bulkhead connector on the firewall. I'll have to look at mine. You can add the wire to the factory harness if it wasn't there. You need a donor harness though.

Thanks for the replies. I'm using a reproduction factory tach. I was looking at the '72 Service Manual. It shows a separate harness. I'll keep investigating.
