I am fitting a new tank , the ring that lock the sender unit in, must that be turned all the way to lock.? I took a pic, the bit that I show with the screwdriver point is the bit I am unsure if it should be turned more to lock better ( hope it makes sense)
Thanks, roel

It is usually turned until it stops and the raised tab touches the stop. Some times I have had new ones that are really, really tight. Make sure it is centered correctly. I had one that was so hard to turn i used the old one. Some new ones seem to have too much 'spring' built in.

Get out your favorite long screw driver and BFH and start thumping.
Should pretty much lock all the way.
I just installed a new sending unit in the old tank on my Challenger. Ring that came with the sending unit was actually loose. I reused the old one.
