any ideas?? 71 outside door handles??

Yea, me too, I need a pair. I called Year One, they are discontinued there. I can find them for 75 and later, but aren't they a little more squared off? not sure if they even bolt up.

I bought a set last year at the indy swap .I don't remeber the place's name he gave me a card but i can not find it right now.The only thing is they are made in china and i had to shim them out from the door a little bit.Other wise when you opened the door they hit.Other than that they are nice.

www.jimsautoparts.com They are $95.00 each. The info says they are show quality and the ones from other vendors are poor and pitted. I have a pair that would be good for a driver/ local show rig.

I know Jim's Auto has the handles. I also know that he has a bad rep when it comes to customer service and his products that seems to be the consensus from members over on Moparts. I've never bought anything from him just because of that. "Just the facts ma'am"

Has anyone bought a set of these from Jims?

I just bought a set of these, taking a chance. Got them in in maybe 3 days.

They have the same shape, design, and size as the one's that came off my car, and more than decent chrome. The worst I can say about them is that the edge of the opening where you put your fingers to lift had a slight problem, and I can't even describe it, it is sorta like a scrape that doesn't keep the sharp edge all the way, or causes a slight edge all the way. For the price, I'm more than happy with them.

I just fitted the first of the handles I bought for $20 some dollars to the car. Found I have to shim the handle out from the car a little so the top of the handle will clear the car body (yea, too late, scratch in fresh paint. I used 3 washers, maybe 3/16ths of an inch, as shown here.

i think you have the wrong ones for your car
the part number for is 71-72 is 3580035

Heck if I know... they are the same as I took off and they open the door. That's what matters to me. thanks for the numbers tho. I'm sure since they are re-pops from China they won't have numbers on them. The car's just to have fun with, and to give my ex some motivation to fight thru her cancer.

there no shims on mine are from the factory i have 3 mint ones 71-72 3 bad ones

and they fit my doors no shims

The one's I took off and the extras I have all fit with no shims too, but they are really old looking, or broken. I guess that the 75 and later mounting points are less dished that the 74 and earlier, and these handles reflect that. That's what I get for being cheap, spending $45 instead of $200.
