Educate me on the style of the 71 hood pins. Do they have lanyards? And if so, what is the length? And show me some pics of 71 hood pins on cars.

Here are mine. Yes, they have lanyards. Sorry I don't know the length off the top of my head, but I can measure them when I get home...

From what I know, they were either 23" or 25". I cannot get a specific answer though.

From the front point of the scoop to the front point of the bubble? What is it you want me to measure exactly?

I need to know how much I need to open my door up so I can attach a spacer or whatever I can figure out to keep the door open all the time. So, I guess from the front end tip of the door down the the bubble where the door shuts to.

That seems to be the most poplular 71. If I remember right, someone told me that the 23" was for the 'Cudas etc (NOT for sure though)

Correct me if I’m wrong, I understand BarryBum’s question as “how high is the door in the open position in relation to the opening in the bubbleâ€. I have 3 to 3 1/4†at the center of the door to the top of the bubble. In a fully functional A/G set-up this upper limit is controlled by the full travel of the actuator. Correctly adjusted actuator bracket should have the extended actuator position the door with the side seals resting against the underside of the opening in the open position.

I believe that the 25" are rubber coated for painted bumpers.

That's even more of a reason to use them I suppose. Why would you want bare cables when you could have the coated ones, other than the "correct", if there is one, issue?

the "rubber coated" ones are black in color....Not clear plastic like the others.

I could be mistaken, But I ordered a set for my car and found that the "longest" ones 25 or?...Are black rubber coated....All others (I found) are clear plastic coated.
