Underhood strut rods on a '72 B-body

Hello.
I'm looking to determine which '72-and-up cars got the underhood rods, from the top of the firewall to the top of each fender. I'm ASSuming it was for structural integrity on big-block cars. What decided which cars got 'em? I have a clean '72 Sat 318 car w/o them, but I'm dropping in a big block and want the structural rigidity.

And no offense to the '73-74 guys, but am curious exclusively for '72s. I believe it was not offered on '71s.

Thanks in advance.

I had the same thoughts.....I also do not remember ever seeing an air grabber car with the "struts"..were they built with them and an air grabber?

Every original big block car (including Satellites) I've seen had them....including a first day built road runner....so it wasn't an early vs late build thing. I do know of one survivor 318 Satellite that doesn't have them, but they could have been removed. Not sure if all small block cars had them or not.
Here's a pic of an A/G car with them.....obviously restored, not a survivor though

My 1972 RR N96 400 4v car has them.
Original on big block car for 1972 is what I heard but I also heard on on N96 optioned car.
So I'm not sure.
