I have a few questions about options on a 71

Did the 71 / 340 Roadrunners come with the air grabber option or was that only a big block toy? And did all Road Runners have the dual slotted tips? The guy I bought my Satellite from has about 10 pairs of brand hammer new exhaust pipes, already pre bent......they are just hanging in his building. They have the turn downs at the back. Did the Road Runners ever come with just turn downs?

the air grabber was an option for all engines except the HEMI (it was standard equip for the 426).
HEMIs were also the only engines that got the N42 tips standard. They were optional for all other 340-440 engines with dual exhaust.....I don't remember the availability on SS and SSP cars.

Decorative tips were standard on all Hemi & 440+6 cars as well as standard on all GTX's.

so, on my "Clonerunner".....pretty catchy name huh?....LOL I could use one of the repro air grabbers and run stock turn downs on my duals and still "appear correct" for a 340 Roadrunner in 71?

don't forget though, that options may not have been available from the factory, but had accessories dealer-added, like the tips, hood pins, and stripes

While the option list may show the N42 tips as standard on 440+6, I have many examples on record that are not coded for them, and there is no indication that the cars were California ordered. In fact, I believe Norm's (General) car is a Canadian car with out the tips.
You can't always trust the dealer info. We know even though it lists the tips as not available in California, that some CA 440+6 cars did get them, but with the N97 option and resonators.
