so i'm trying to figure out what stall speed converter to get for my car...i'm getting an HEI electronic iginiton and a new Edelbrock 750...exhaust is headers and i'm going back to regular dual exhaust instead of side pipes...other than that the motor is basic stock 1969 440.
Any help appreciated as always...

I don't profess to be much of an expert on these issues, but I can tell you to take your own comfort level into account when considering a convertor. My car was raced before I bought it, nitrous and all. I suspect it's got a 3500 stall. It accelerates like stink but for cruising on the highway it ain't so good. I don't have a tach but my rpms are too high on the highway, presumably because the convertor's not fully locked. First chance I get that convertor is coming out. By the way, I only have 3:21s in the aft end.

ya i was thinking like a 2400-2800 stall converter...i figured the ones over 3000 were for racing ...and i do drive on the highway often, so i'd like the ability to cruise...thanks for the info
