Who can tell me where to get the purple paint for the bird head on a 71 grill. I picked one up on ebay that is nos but was never painted it is all yellow. Thanks

go to a hobby store and buy some plastic model paint

Did you buy one of the five that were yellow?
I experimented with purple fingernail polish.It was a nice match
now I am looking for the yellow.

I used the testors basic model paint assortment....wal-mart to touch up one of my birds and it was a real good match. for the yellow

Yea it is one of the yellow ones on ebay. I thinking I will only need the purple paint because it is yellow already unless the yellow wont match. I have some testors paints but I dont have the purple. I am thinking about it and air brushing the paint on.
I also have a dash emblem that needs some paint but that will have to be air brushed or it will look like crap.
The grill bird will be a tempory thing until I find a 72 grill set up but I still want it to be as close to orginal as possible.

Can help you with the paint match other than to let you know the grill and dash emblems do not have the same purple (grill emb. purple is much darker). Also, the yellow was exposed on originals, so don't paint over that.
