Looking at a 71 4D lite. Wonder what parts I can use on my 71 RR.

Disc brakes?

8 3/4 Rear.

Radiator

Just wonder. It's a 4 door I would part out for upgrades to my 71RR.

What else can I recycle so to speak?

I have a sat wagon and for sure everything form the dash to the radiator is the same...it was a bigblock car with a 150mph rallye DASH!!

the rear end would be the same and also a great place to score some front floor pans....the rears maybe the same???

as far as the disk brakes...yes they will be the same.....BUT I would go with the late 70's early 80's FIFTH AVE swap!!!!!!!
these are cheaper to maintain and get parts for!!!!!!!!

if you find one (a fifth)get the spindles and use the rest of that set-up for cores at the parts house.....scott

hi last year I cut up a 72 4 door coronet. I took the wheel tubs out. They look the same as my 71 GTX ones except for a bump, which won't interfere anyway. The trunk floor on a 71 4 door is 3 inches longer than a 2 door The trunk extentions are too long. The front floor pan on the 4 door is the same as a 2 door. The rest of the front end is the same (firewall ect) as a 2 door. The back frame rails are too long. I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, just ask.

I'm not sure how this applies to the 4-doors, but years ago I took the rear end out of a 71 2-door Satellite and put it in my 74 Road Runner. The spring perch was different. If I recall correctly, I had to modify it slightly to fit my springs.

These are the cars you are looking for....we affectionately call
them "FILTH AVENUES"......freaky thing though....the cars are usually
trash but they will totally have new rotors and calipers....LOL

You will need to get from a donor car:
(parts from filth ave or aspen volare)

spindles (dust shields)

calipers

rotors

Things you may need to purchase:

The lower ball joint is the same on all b-bodies 73 and up drum or disk..
so get them new OR JUST USE YOUR OLD ONES.

you can exchange your rotors, calipers, get new wheel bearing, and break
pads OR JUST USE YOUR the ONES. chances are these will be just fine
and if they are not they are easy and CHEAP to replace.

Ask for the flex brake hose to fit a 73 roadrunner...these are longer

things to keep up with:

the sliding caliper will have metal tabs and banjo bolts that are easy to loose..

A-BODY A What!!!
(this info is for A-Body only)

If you are converting an a-body you will need the UPPER A-ARM from:
any 73 and up "a-body" disk or drum (or an aspen or volare) these will
have the larger ball joint like our B-Bodies have. And lower ball joint from
73 and up A B or E car for your A-Body(the lowe ball joint will require
9/16 grade 8 bolts and lock nuts...the A have smaller bolts)

DONE

The cool thing is this set-up will work all the way back to the mid 60's
cars. And parts are way cheaper ....Like $35 dollar rotors...WOW that
beats the crap outta $150 each....

Your new caliper placement will be in the rear and not in the front....your
disk size will be 10 7/8...almost 11".....for the purist it is not exact....but
the set-up is way better than the pin type.....I mean I wouldn't put it on
my hemi car(like I have one) but my 72 rr bigblock airgrabber car sure
stops nice......Take care and contact me for any info....scott

Cool just wanted to make sure....so 83 to 89 5Th's. Just wanted to make sure there was no cut-off year......oh and by the way, I drive one daily....its my pimp daddy car as all the girls at work call it.

Taking delivery of my replacement Satellite tomorrow, and I want to do the disk conversion from the get-go.
