Road Runner Nest

I am putting painted mirrors on my 72 RR.It came with the plain chrome mirror on the drivers side only.

My question is how far back from the front edge of the door is the front of the mirror base?Are both sides the same?

Yes, both sides are the same. 12.5" back

I have attached pictures showing where I had mesured from.
