Repro stripes for the 1971 Road Runner come in flat black and reflective black. Which is correct factory issue? My code indicated black but nothing else.

I think they were all mainly non-reflective, but i think i've seen some lit on some stripes being reflective. i have the 440 fender decals -- supposed to be black, b ut sent me reflective, so i used them anyway -- i think they're cooler, because they go with the metallic look and in the day time, they appear silver or sometimes, they "disappear". but not sure how many, if any, were actually done reflective, but i thought i saw somewhere that these cars stood out because of "soomething, something, reflective tape stripes, something..."

71 and 72 Strobe stripes are reflective.
The only one that were not reflective were hood strites 71 GTX tank track 72RR and V21 V25 hood deck 72 RR and 2-door Satellite.

Yep, I remember one of the coolest things about these cars back in the day was seeing the reflective strobe stripes at night... Well, back in the day and now as well!

The original road tests from 1971 in magazines such as Motor Trend, Road Test all mention the cool reflective stripes. I am not sure whether you could specify reflective or flat.

i know you can get flat or reflective from paddock...i think they even list a red stripe, but don't quote me on that one...proby for a later car that i'm thinking of, like 73-4. same thing with the engine size numbers...i thought i was getting flat black, cuz you had a choice, but ended up with reflective. I really wanted white, but they were backordered for who knows how long.

I make reproduction kits for the 71 stripe in white, black, and gold reflective. some folks ask for flat black....but I do not think it was an option for that stripe.....
I like to be up on these things....so gold-white-black reflectiveis what I think.
I'm in the process of mapping the 72 stripe...but I do have the call-outs(with or without custom engine cid., both styles of hood stripes(gtx1971 and the tank trac), the longitudinal airgrabber stripe.
the strobe is $100 as is the longitudinal
side call-outs are 25
tank trac and such are 50
the material is Avery brand....it last longer than 3m.....especially when it is fresh cut...no kidding
also my lines are arrow straight on all of me kits.....die cutting is the preferred method by the suppliers to year one and such.....and some of you may know that sometimes the stripes are less than perfect.
let me know if you can help.......sorry for the sales pitch.....but I love our cars and it is great to save some cash when we can!!!!!
I would like to get a kit on someones car here in the "nest" for a reference

No problem with the sales pitch man, it's always nice to have another source! Dave-man, have the stripe for Blue Bird yet?
