Hey guys,

I just read about Road Chickens 4-speed to 5-speed conversion and that got me thinking! (no really, it did! :D ) I seem to recall reading about a conversion kit for the 727 transmission, saving the original box, only changing the guts from 3 to 4 speed. In other words, form the outside you wouldn't see the difference.

Have any of you guys heard of this kit?

Nope, but that would be pretty cool. I was thikin bout the gear vendors overdrive to make the gears less steep, but don't know if it would really do that much. The 5 speed would be pretty sweet, cuz I need more gears!!!!!!!! Too much beign held back with the auto. Still smokin every integra and eclipse 8) , but always need more! :D

I heard that gearvendors unit really does the job for the slushboxes. Althought I think there is some floor surgery too. The one I read about was behind a FI 426- so they got to be tough enough.

I figured with the over/under drive it would be pretty cool, cuz the gear ratios are so steep in the car. It would defintiely benefit from cutting them in half. Maybe it would help some in performance, but I don't know. Yep tryin to thik of ways to save gas and build power and speed at the same time. Maybe after I get out of college, I can get my motor built with some edelbrock heads and fuel injection, gear drive (supercharger whine), and the Keisler conversion. Between that stuff, there would be a pretty good machine.
