how would you do that, like get the seat lowerd closer to the floor and then put the shifter in closer to the dash? it would probably have to be cable operated...maybe aftermarket...if i still had a bench, i'd do a hurst or even just a generic JCWhitney floor shifter that looks like a 4speed...pistol grip handle would be even cooler...still dumbfounded about console with a bench though...

a pistol grip handle that goes into a 4speed type boot, yet operates an automatic would be awesome (i think). i'd get rid of my console and just have my buckets with nothing between them to have that :D

This also replaced the standing road runner on the rear deck lid, right hand corner.

Simply cosmetic badges. ..

although the 1974 GTX didnt have the 440, it could only come with the 400 ci.

1 on 73 -74 is a gtx on hood only not on rear deck lid

2 74 rr gtx is 440 only there are no 400 rr gtx in 74

the vin on 74 rr gtx rm21u4 no hard tops

I think you will find the hoods with the vents were 73 hoods and the hoods without the vents are for 74 cars.

I've actually googled the 74 and 73 and found a lot of 74 hoods with the vents, but all were 400 or better engines. And I've found some 74's with 318 and 360's with non vents. Ive not seen a 73 with the vented hood.

I bought mine as a 74 GTX hood. It came with the hood pins and the gtx emblems on the cowl and the vents. So, that's where I was getting my info.

I do think the vents are there for the larger engines. The 400s and 440's were pretty well crammed in there and it can get pretty hot in tight spaces. . . (thats supposed to be hot, not mad).

Well okay, so I have a power bulge hood with vents that may or may not be 1973 or 1974 and may or may not be for a Roadrunner or GTX.

I've learned so much in this little exercise . . . :help:  :stirpot:
