Emblems or airbrush? thoughts?????
Just throwing this out there...as time draws near for my beloved bird to go to the body shop, I have been talking with a guy I know who does airbrush work about having the bird decals, and possibly the "no text" callouts airbrushed on instead of traditional decals. He tells me he can do and make it look as factory or as custom as I like (I am thinking factory look.) if he has a pattern to work with (original decals). My thinking is this, have the emblems painted and sealed under clear coat that way I never have to worry about replacing them. Also, just a brainstorm, has anyone else thought about "ghost strobe stripe and tank tracks" . Car is going back original dark green not sure how it would look. If I were to go with the ghost stripes....would I be banned from the nest??????
I would really appreciate everyone's feedback on this item. Thanks in advance.

your car do what you want, not sure if the air brush will be as bright as the decal, but I guess you never have to worry about it coming off!

There is a pic on the internet I saw about a year ago, I don't remember if it was a 71 or 72 black with the ghost strobe, it looked great. I couldn't find it on a quick search or I would have posted a link here.has anyone else thought about "ghost strobe stripe and tank tracks
Back in the late 70s there was a black 68 GTO in town with 'GTO' air brushed and the Pontiac emblems removed, it looked great too.

Maybe go with a black metallic for the strobe and black part of the callouts with a white pearlescent for the engine displacement. I'm not envisioning the ghost stripes.

I had thought about doing the same thing to my car! The decals painted would last a good long time!

You're welcome mopardog. What I am thinking for my 72 is B5 blue with the strobe and emblems (roadrunner or Satellite) in clear reflective paint and just the roadrunner reflective bird stickers. Thanks for the pic jace! That's just what I was looking for!
I have a white reflective strobe still in the box to take measurements from and neither of my Satellites came with the Satellite emblems.
