Throttle cable

Post by roelbest » Thu Aug 16, 2012 2:07 pm

I need a new throttle cable for my '72 roadrunner. Is there anywhere I can buy a new one ( or good used) .
I see YO only sell up to '71 BB cables. Is there a difference between '71 and '72?
Thansk!

I’m running a MP P4529111, labeled as a “six pack” cable but nothing unique about it. Should be able to locate them most anywhere. 72’ takes the same cable as 71’, same as e-bodies too.

Yep the 71 will work fine.

No real mystery with cables. Actually it is better to have a longer cable which are easier to fit on engines with aftermarket intakes and such. You just need to make sure that your range of cable travel matches the carburetor and the pedal. I heard it was an old school trick to use a /6 cable if using a high rise intake.
