If a body lift is added to a pickup with a 4 speed, do the shifter rods need to be lengthened? I think they do, but I thought I would check. Thanks.

Shifter is bolted to the transmission which in turn is bolted to the frame. You'd need to lengthen the shifter itself.

It's more like an 833, than a top-loader truck tranny, or does that matter? The reverse is up and to the left. Fourth gear is actually overdrive-really low. It has the rods on the side. I guess a longer shifter should work-may not even have to, cuz the shifter is really long-I'll do some more research.
Thanks :D
