Mopar Graveyard

A few months ago I put a wanted ad on Craigslist. Looking for a 71-72 Plymouth Satellite or RR. I had a guy respond and I went and saw what he had. What he has is in fact a HUGE Mopar collection. He lives here in Mississippi and in the mid 90's, he started scooping up all the old Mopars he could find and stashing them out on his property. Most, if not all, of these cars were sitting in yards around the South. This guy just put the word out and people would get in contact with him and he'd pay 'em a bit and haul the cars home.

He called me and said he had a pretty much complete 72 Satty, so my girl and I went out to look. Now the car was too far gone for me to be able to restore so I bought my car elsewhere but we went back to this guy's place last weekend and bought the car for a good parts car. Also picked up a nice Roadrunner hood with the callouts. It was a fun trip and I figured you guys would get a kick out of seeing this stuff so I'll post some pics.

This is the 72 Satellite Sebring I got for parts. Mostly just surface rust other than that roof which has holes from the vinyl top. Registration expired 3/1983 lol

He had just picked this one up. A 71 Satellite, ex-strip car with an old 440.

Another 72 with a trunk FULL of original hubcaps

More - 71 RR and a 73-74 Satellite

That's just some of the Plymouth 71-74 action going on there.

Wow! Is he selling a lot, or just a few parts here and there? I could use some parts.

He sells some. He works weekdays so he hasn't really advertised anything. It's just a word of mouth, local kind of thing right now. I told him I would help him post stuff but he said he's not ready to try and keep up with all that yet. He's waiting til he retires pretty much. I feel lucky that he contacted me and has helped me out. As soon as he's ready to sell I will let everyone know.

While we were there, my girl fell in love....

'69 Charger RT 440. He has the whole car, complete but partially disassembled. My girl saw it, bonded with it, and her and the guy made a deal. Now as soon as I get room, we are going to pick that up and that'll be our next project. We are selling our '68 International Scout to make room for that baby.

Nice! I'd love to have fender tag info on the 71-72 cars if you get back there and have some time to snap a few photos.

Exactly... Learn your vin and option codes. you never know where treasure is lurking!

I'm most curious about the codes on the sassygrass car...
