Just wanted everyone to know the article on the '71 GTX is coming out in the upcoming issue. I am very disappointed in how the article turned out. MANY errors. I even proofed the article and sent them back the corrections and they didn't change one thing. Oh well, I really shouldn't be too surprised.

My car was featured in July 2005 MCG while in the possession of the previous owner. Similar deal with them taking creative liberties and not caring too much about accuracy. LOTS of errors in the article.

Unfortunately they all seem to do that in their articles. The truth is just to boring I guess. Hot Rod magazine did the same thing when they featured my Daytona in the Sept '78 issue. To read the article you'd think I was swimming rivers, and jumping fences to find the car. It sat in front of his garage for everyone to see when they went down the street because it wouldn't fit in his garage.

Did you really expect accuracy from MCG Ryan? I like the magazine but don't expect too much.

Ryan, congratulations on having your car in the magazine, I do not subscribe to MCG but I may have to buy this issue when it comes out.

You're right Eric. I shouldn't expect anything else. Although, I did send them a nice email that asked why the hell would they want the article proofed if they had no intention of correcting the mistakes? Complete incompetence. By the way, no response back from them either......

Ryan, my issue of MCG arrived a couple days ago. Your car looks great! Wish they'd put a few more photos in the article.

Eric, I don't know if you noticed, but the best part is the ad directly below the article on the last page. Too bad they would never have mentioned them by name in the article when they state "the first restoration shop was a minor disaster". One of the many errors in the article claims that we did the panel replacement ourselves, but it was actually MCR. We simply repaired one of the quarter panels they screwed up and performed the initial body work. It was then sent to Corey Owens at Ogilvie Collision in Ogilvie, MN for final body, paint and assembly. He was fantastic to work with and it's unfortunate for him that they mispelled the name and location of his shop. He deserves the recognition for saving this car from purgatory in our own body shop.

i dont get mcg but i saw your post a few days ago and was interested so today i went to my local books a million and found the article, took a seat and looked at it. you have a good looking car, its to bad to hear that they would waste your time "collecting facts" and asking you to proof the article yet still make the story say what they wanted. but like i said, you do have a nice car and it was a great representation of our cars. good job.

Just read the article. Congratulations on that. You did a fantastic job on your car! I have a real appreciation for those that toil to put the car back the way it came down the assembly line. I know it takes a tremendous amount of time and unfortunately $$. I don't want to offend anyone, I do appreciate all who save and restore these cars!

Just picked up my copy on my way into work tonight. Great looking car and great story on your search for a car to restore. You definitely found a sweet car with an interesting history. My GY8 SSP has the exact same interior P6T7 GT8, even the buddy seat. How do you like the interior color? I am trying to decide between the original color or black. Thanks! Scott.

I like the color of the interior. It's different than most you see and it looks good in person. I'm not a huge fan of black interior though. Yes, black goes with anything, but I like to see the different colors. The '63 Max Wedge clone we're doing now will have red interior and our '71 'Cuda will have B5 interior. I think I posted a link to some better pictures earlier in the thread that shows the interior better.
