Repainting the Fender Tag

When I was looking through Ryans photos of his gorgeous GTX, I noticed that he did not repaint his fender tag. I have seen this done on other cars that have been restored. Is this just a way to show the originality of the car, or is there more to this?

I've seen that done many times, what I do is get a reproduction tag made and put that one on the car, and the original I keep with my documents. We've had fender tags stolen here in the past and I don't want to take a chance to loose it.

It's simply a matter that some plants painted the fender tag while others did not. The tag on my Runner was painted originally and I had it repainted (FINALLY!) when we redid the engine compartment. FWIW, my Runner was built in St. Louis.
