Hi!
Been reading this website for a while now and decided to join.
I've got my eyes on 1973 Plymouth RR, equipped with factory 4-speed manual, console, bucket seats, and 340(engine is missing now). Haven't got it yet 'cause car is still in California and I live faaaaaaar away... but I hope to have it here til next summer. It was originally colored as jy3-gold, so if anobody has a RR (or any that era mopar) colored with that same color I would like to see what it looks like
Oh, I got two Imperials also
Happy Holidays to all of you!

Thanks! Here's the pic of the car.
Do you know what size are the rear brakes, are there two different sizes with front discs?

Brakes. There are 2 sizes. 10 3/4" and 11 3/4". I think the road runners automatically came with the larger 11 3/4" brakes, but don't quote me on that. If you can take a drum off and measure it to find out. Rear drum brake parts are still very easy to find. Front drum parts are getting a bit more difficult. Especially for manual brakes.

I haven't got the car yet, so it's difficult to check

. Thought that I would order some brake parts before it gets here. This car has power brakes...and manual steering.

Most decent parts houses carry the parts for the rears still. If not they are usually only a day away so I wouldn't worry about getting the parts early. Besides those old draums were pretty tough. They probably just need to be turned down a bit with new pads.
Power brakes w/ manual steering...boy I sure would rather have it the other way around!

So would have I!
Title should arrive here any day now...can't wait!
Seller told me that Plymouth manufactured only 900 4-speed RoadRunners that year...I wonder if that's true.

I would not be surprised. After 71 the idea of a big block 4 speed car was definately not popular. If it is so I would say that it is a very desireable car you have. Definately not common on 73-74 roadrunners.

Here's a list of some of the options
G35-Chrome outside left racing mirror
L31- Hood/Fender Mounted Turn Signals
H41-Heater with upper vent
R11-AM Radio-music master 2-watt
V88-Roof Strobe and Body stripes - delete
JY3-Honey Gold
C56-Bucket Seats
G11-Tinted Glass - All Windows
E55-340 CID 8 cyl 1-4bbl 240 hp
D21-Floor shift 4-spd Manual Transmission - A833
I've always liked the 4-speed with pistol grip, but I have never driven one. I have never even owned a manual car (if you don't count the 56 Desoto that had the original manual in the trunk).

Cool...wow a stripe delete car. I am a fan of the stripes, but hey to each their own.
The 340 is a kick ass motor. 73 was the last year for them. The only downside to the late 72 and up 340's is that they are a cast crank with lower compression. I am guessing by the pictures though that you are going to rebuild it or put something else in. The 4 speed is a lot of fun. I have a 5 speed 2003 stratus and I love it. I heard the old 4 speeds have a very stiff clutch which can make city driving a real work out, but heh it's an old muscle car!
