The Serious Satellite, a 74 Sat Sebring, has been stripped of all salvageable parts and sent to the crusher.

Far too much rust to restore, frame rails were patched sometime in the past, and poorly done, and every time I went anywhere on the car, it was rust....

my fault for buying an east coast car...

You should see some of even the newer vehicles after people dont keep up on washing/maintenance
because of all the salt they use up here in Ontario...
Cant keep everything and he did say
""The Serious Satellite, a 74 Sat Sebring, has been stripped of all salvageable parts""

I salvaged the interior, which gives me a green interior and a white one that I put together, to include new ceiling thingy (brain cramp...noun went away), new seat covers, new carpet. I removed the dash, but really don't know why I did, kept the ash tray, rear view mirrors.

The passenger door was shot, just too much bondo, so I didn't save that. Driver's door was just as bad as soon as I got the paint off, mostly bondo, and I kept the trunk lid, the original satty hood, the roadrunner hood I bought, and let the bumpers go.

I stripped the engine, it's in storage, the tranny was toast, and I left the rear end on.

The passenger side rear quarter was nothing but fiberglass most of the way up the side of the quarter, and the driver's side rear quarter was just as bad on both sides of the panel.

The frame rails were rusted through in places, and there was a bad shimmy in the front end anyway.

I did a very poor job of looking at the car when I bought it, but I only paid 800 bucks for it. So, I stripped it, and sent it away. Sometimes, it's better to let something go and start anew. And I had to let it go.

Now I'm looking for a Satellite in better shape. There's one here in Georgia I'd love to have, a Satellite Sebring Plus that's running, and it's a southern car, no rust. And it's white with white halo vinyl top and white interior. Needs new paint though, and I can do that. I''m watching it, and it's been dropping in price every time it's posted. No one's buying right now.

And hell yeah it's sad. I had that thing in the garage for five years...and in that five years, I've bought FIVE cars for my two daughters...

You show them where the dipstick is, how to check their fluids, and still..they're gas and go. Girls are hell on cars....

Damn i see.

I know what you mean about girls and cars.I was at a taco bell earlier today and these young girls were in drive through line when the hood started leaking smoke...I don't think she was ever told a car needs oil.

Back to the car. That sucks.Hope the next project works out for ya.
