Beautiful car! Most likely it's the AG switch--they are reproduced but they are pricey!72rrGTX wrote:New guy here. Just picked up a 72 GTX, shes all there, air grabber and all (although that just stopped working for some reason). Im in love for sure.

Re: My 72 road runner GTX
Air Grabber issue fixed, atleast for now. Although a factory N96 car, turns out the canister went bad years ago and was never replaced, so looks like im on the hunt for a canister and bracket.
Bought the car from a guy in Pittsburgh, who basically has his own rare MOPAR heaven (2 AAR cudas, 2 70 challenger RTs 440+6, 70 GTX 440+6, 70 charger 440+6, 69 RR convertible (black w/ white top/white interior..supposedly less than 10 were made with that "tuxedo" option, 71 challenger convertible, and at least another 6 cudas/challengers/rrs...all #s matching!!) I originally went there to look at a 72 challenger, and ended up striking a deal on the 72 GTX, which although rare, he deals primarily in the 70-71 challenger/cuda market. I had no clue he had the GTX, nice surprise.
About my car, its all there (besides the canister). The only thing it desperately needs is a new dash pad, the rest of the interior is in great shape. A few cosmetics, like it has the 71 GTX logo on the trunk lid rather than the 72 bird and GTX, and is missing the road runner on its sides. No A/C, no tint, and AM radio radio isnt working but I really dont mind that.
i'm sure ill be asking a lot of questions on here!

Another awesome example.72rrGTX wrote: The only thing it desperately needs is a new dash pad,
They say AZ Nick on this board is the man when it comes to dash pads. I need one for mine as well.

I might actually have an extra canister, so PM me if you want it. If my memory serves it's at the storage garage and I don't get over there very often.

Re: My 72 road runner GTX
Have posted any new pics, so I thought I post one of the new pistol grip (thanks quapman).
Still having issues with the air grabber, but I just picked up a canister to replace the one my car is missing. I just have to find the time to mess around with everything and hopefully fix it. AG experts, prepare for questions.

Oh man, a Jeepster! My dad had a '49 and we were really active in the Midstates Jeepster Association while dad was living.
