Hi everyone.
I just bought a 1971 GTX from the original owner. It has been parked for over 20 years. It is unmolested and all there, well almost all there, he removed the original 4 tires and rims and I managed to get 2 of them back from him, he doesn't know what happend to the other 2.
It has a 4 speed, A33 Dana.
Color is GY9 with a white vinyl top, anyone know how many 4 speed GTX's where in this paint and combo?
This GTX is a plain and simple GTX, no console, tach, or tape stripes, but it has a accent stripe (paint), it also has the inside hood release.
From what I can tell the motor is all there and untouched except for a hose clamp. This is a rust free Arizona car.......

There are production figures on this site for 1971 Road Runners and GTX's.
327 4-speed GTX's for 1971.
GREAT find! Share some pictures! I love GY9 Tawny Gold Metallic!

I have been trying to find a registry for the 71GTX and I cant seem to locate one, are there any?
If not, maybe I should start one for the 71-72 GTX and 71-72 RR.
ANY IDEAS?????

I thought Dave wanted to set up a registry of 1971-72 Plymouths when he gets time.

Nice find! It is worthy of a first class restoration! Good luck. Keep us informed to your progress and any questions you have.
Good looking website. Great way to document the cars condition as it improves. Hope to see more soon. Now the FUN begins!

Hey there! Welcome to the site. Glad to see ya made it over here. You'll find a small community here, but a bunch of people that really love the 71-74s!

As I said over on Moparts, that's an awsome find! A really neat car, with some cool options. I'm definately looking forward to seeing what you do with that car!

Thanks for reply and kind words on the X, I have been researching the term survivor because I am trying to see if I can call it a Survivor.
I am sure you have seen the updated pics of it in the thread called GTX Daylight pics....., I will be updating it here also as soon as I get a chance.
Since there are none around that I can find, I am going to start a registry for the 71 GTX community and I might extend it to cover the 71GTX, 71 RR and 72 GTX/RR, any feedback would be Appreciated.
Dave, one more question, any idea how many GY9 GTX 4speed cars made, I know the list you have is on the complete Satellite line of cars but I am looking for info on the GTX 4Speed cars, I am trying to narrow down the 1 of so many numbers........
thanks

There is no way to tell how many were made with a combination of options.
Like GY9 and 4-speed.
You can say 327 4-speed 1971 GTX's and (?) GY9 1971 GTX's.
Someone here should be able to tell you how many GY9 1971 GTX's were made.
Dave's paint production numbers are for the entire Satellite line of cars.
There are breakdowns for each model (RR, GTX, S, SS, SSP) for 1971 (sorry I don't have them ....if your car were a 1972 I could help)

Steve,

Any interest in typing up those numbers you have for the 72s and posting them in the User Submissions area of the Technical Archive? I wish I had those kinds of numbers for the 71s, but have yet to find a good source for them.

As far as a registry, yes, I still have the beginnings of one in the works for all 71-74 Plymouth B-bodies. I have about 400 cars or so right now, and have a couple sources I need to touch base with that will probably double that number at least. Work has just been so rough lately, I haven't had time to spend on the backend database of the registry so it will support external submissions (hopefully via email) and eventually some type of publishing of "stats" of the registry. This project should finally be through it's super stress time in the next couple weeks, and the registry is high on my list of ToDo items.
