well they won't get it imo...maybe, but very doubtful - especially when you can get a really nice gtx in the 25-30K range........or that beautiful all-original B7 340 runner for 13K...i know what i'd chose - the 340 runner - you can't restore originality - i like the dings, scratches, etc. - better than any trailer queen :D

GOD..thats exactly like mine except for the splash guards behind the front wheels. The interior and the vinyl top are the same.

If they had this car since new, I think the person putting it up for auction should have some sort of documentation.

Not much info. Could use more pics. I don't think it will sell at that price.

I'm not pursuing the car for myself (not at that price anyway), but it is an interesting car.

Isn't Texas Toy box in that town? Maybe it is TT under a Disguise.

Looks a little steep for me. With fuel prices what they are, just hold on and watch all the bargans.

Nope texas toy box is like 40 miles from me. Hard to say if its TT under disguise though cause I have seen that with another mopar place further south in texas. Cars that were for sale at TT disappeared from thier website only to appear up at the other place for sale and vise-versa. Maybe they are just good at horse trading.

Interesting, they state in the auction they won't take less than $20K for the car, but the starting bid is $21K and there's and unknown reserve! Seems like way too much for the car that needs a repaint and interior work (from their description) and has very little photo documentation....

I e-mailed him about the Special Edition, since we're discussing it somewhat here, especially after looking at the virtual library at the Hamtramck registry. He's answered and was adamant that it's a Special Edition.

Now, is he right or does Hamtramck's 1971 registry missing a car?

I believe the two-tone interior had somewhat limited availability. That's the only thing I see "special" about the car.

Regardless, it must have special value to the seller. Not sure how you can post an auction with a couple of grainy photos and expect to get 20 grand.
