ebay down the road

I just noticed this Road Runner on ebay. Strange thing is I live only 15 miles from this car.

I have been at every car cruise and car show in the area for several years now and I have never seen this car. I am sure I would have remembered.

Goes to show you how small of a world it is, and sometimes isn't. Two years ago I saw a yellow 72 RR at a car show that I never saw before and he actually lived within 4 miles of my place.

Weird.

I know how you feel, I saw an awsome 70 roadrunner in my area that I have never seen before,you never know whats in peoples garages.

I used to live in a high-end area of Riverside, California, up in the hills. While taking a walk one day, I saw a '69 Runner in a guy's garage. We got to talking because I had a '70 Bee project at the time. He wanted $10K for it which at the time was a little high. About six years later, when I went to ship off my '69 Satellite to an E-bay winner, I saw what seemed to be the same '69 on the shipping truck (color, 4-speed, minor imperfections). I asked the guy where the car came from and he said Lake Hills neighborhood. I'm like

That's funny. . . about a month ago I was working on my rustification project and looked up and there was a stranger in the garage watching me. I stopped and he introduced himself. He's a neighbor I've never met from the street behind me and he's got a 1970 Dodge Challenger in his garage he's rustifying as well. . .we talked for at least an hour about Mopar . . . .with other manufacturers it's a car, with Mopar, it's a lifestyle. . .

That same car was on ebay back in Dec 06 down in Florida. Don't remember the condition

Check completed listings. Almost nothing is selling... my car included. Serious bidders are few and far between. The market is absolutely dead. Only people buying are bargain hunters, and there aren't a lot of bargains... yet.

Let's face it, the '71-up B's have never been the most popular Mopars of the muscle car era. They were just starting to get some traction when the market tanked. They are probably feeling the most pain right now (from a sellers perspective).

That being said, if my GTX would sell, I'd be taking a very close look at that '72. If it weren't for the bench seat, it would be just about perfect for me.

Its not going to get any better so if you are fixing your car to sell for a profit forget it! When the price goes to 10$ a gallon then I will just not drive it as much.

What can I say, I haven't been buying or selling anything lately... And from what I can tell with the success of US Car Tool's Body In White program, guys are still spending some serious $$$ restoring cars that just a few years ago would have otherwise been crushed...

I was bidding on a satellite hood on ebay but I got out bid to 51 dollars,when was the last time you saw a satellite hood go for that cheap!

Not to highjack the post, but...

Seems the big dollars are still out there, but they're being sunk into cars that have potential for some return.

The moderately valued ($25K to $40K) stuff is what is getting killed right now.

I don't think I'm saying anything we all don't already know.

Regarding the bench seat... I had much more use for them before I got married.
