Has anyone ever had to take off old decals?
I soon have to start bodywork on my car.
I was wondering if i could possibly somehow get the old decals off,i thought maybe one of the suns would look cool framed. So i have a memory of it.When i look at the sun it makes me happy, lol
i know it sounds cheesy but i love the decals..
I tried using a razor blades but it wont work, and brotehr said to try and heat them up with dryer, but i dont know.

I hate to say this bud, but I think yours are too far gone to remove. At work on new cars I use a heat gun and a lot of time to remove the under hood stickers when changing hoods. Sometimes it works but most of the time is does not. I would just hit them with a DA sander with 80 girt and hold it flat sand them off.

I believe kleen strip or 3m (can't remember) makes a decal and adhesive remover that works great. I bought some at oreileys, was in a blue spray can. was near the aircraft paint stripper. If your getting ready to do body work and you plan on stripping the panels, the paint stripper will take it off along with the paint. Some 80 grit on a DA will work also.

Couldn't you just cut around it with a nibbler, snips or a torch?

I dont want them that bad
ist just, its gonna be along time after i take these decals off before i get the new ones($400,geeeez)and so i thought it would be awsome to frame on of them and keep it in my bay so i could see it everyday.I thought about getting a tattoo of it with the stripes going down my arm as a sleeve, but eh i dont really know.

chances are the old decals will be very brittle....getting it off in one piece is not likely...

sorry, did not get that you wanted to keep the decals, the stuff I told you about will probably not let you save them.

probably just take a good, quality picture with a digital camera on the "rose petal" and frame it...not the same, necessarily, but pry the only way...you could even make a tshirt then
