if you're gonna put headers on, go with hedman, seriously...i would also recommend the install kit they give you (a j-pipe and a 90 degree pipe you fit together)........i didn't do this...ran flex pipe to the collector of the side pipe...i'm kinda concerned about the restriction of the pipes tho (going from a 3" collector in the header to 2.25" and then opens up into 3.5 or 4" for the actual muffler/tip part of the pipe

also, i had the front end of my car lowered, so when going to side pipes, you'll hafta twist the torsion bars up a couple inches (i had to go about 3 or so...it was only sitting a lil over 6 inches above ground, so with 4" pipes, they drug all the time when i first got them a few years ago)

So did you make them, order them?

make what? the flex pipe part? ya...just bends into shape (hard to do though lol) you can buy the install kit for about 50 bux, but you have to cut and weld anyway - i ended up having to cut on the sidepipe collector for a smoother install...can't tell, tho

the side pipes are patriot 4 into1...only 63" i believe (i got them for about half what they're selling for now a few years ago) - i'd get longer if i were going to do it again.

PS idk if anyone else has ever had the need for flex pipe, but it is HARD to come by now...i used to buy 6' sections for 20 bux...everyone wanted to sell me a 10' roll for $160 - i had to hunt for this...ended up getting 6' (way more than i needed) for about 30 dollars, thank god :D

yeah those should work...basically you just run some pipe from your reducer to the inlet of the sidepipe...i've even had them hooked up to stock manifolds

k, if you're running headers, all of the pipes from each port come together in a collector. they come to a 3" 3-bolt flange at the end. so, in order to add exhaust tubing, you need to put on a reducer. they come in various sizes, but most generally will bolt onto your collector with a 3 bolt flange and then allow you to mount any pipe you want off of your header.

after that piece is on, you run your exhaust pipe (flex, or custom-bent) from that reducer to the inlet on the side pipe. this is where the exhaust enters the side pipe...if you're using corvette side pipes (i'm assuming from a 60s car) it should already be 2.25 or 2.5 " diameter for the inlet size. in this case, you should run a 3" to 2.25" OD header reducer, then 2.25" ID flex pipe (ID so it will fit over header reducer and inlet on side pipe) to the side pipe...this will result in the flex pipe simply sliding over your header reducer and flex pipe inlet...clamp it on and you're basically done.

*Note: if it's actually 2.5", you would use a 3" to 2.5" OD reducer and 2.5" ID flex pipe

It's really pretty simple...just a lot of "persuasion" if you know what i mean :D
