Don't believe a word of GM buying anything more expensive than a cup of coffee. They are in serious financial trouble. Some form of joint venture to help share development costs could be possible, but a buyout just isn't in the cards for GM.

I hope you're right. I suddenly had images of being forced by parental remarriage into having step-brothers and step sisters I didn't want, i.e. Camaros, Mustangs, ect, lol.

Of course how would you guys feel if a chinese company bought them out just so they could sell their car platform with a familiar name here in the USA?
Anything is possible with money involved.

Well...GM is not exactly in financial trouble....It is a ploy to shed off retirees and those who might get benifits from them.
Ford is doing a similar action currently.
I'm sure the economy is not the greatest...and their cars suck...their
going to do anything to make a buck.

Out of iron ore and scrap metal we sent them! Not only that, they get to pollute as much as they want while the tree hugging environmental whackos want to shut down US industry!

Give Metal a China

Here is an interesting "Chinese Metal" Story....
We have a rather large metal sales company here (metal roofing and
metal studs)...Those folks have recently came off of a trip to China
looking into buying their roll stock direct from the manufacturer....?
I ask them...why dont you buy it from the steel mills up north....and their
reply to my amazement was...it all comes from China and has for the last 10 years or so!!!!!
so if you have a metal building constructed in the last 10 years....you can
bet the metal was made by a really short non english speaking fella...
Go figure

AUUGH!!!!! I'm getting sick just contemplating MA in Gm's clutches. Simply because GM would finish off MA to kill any extra competiton and then sell off the assets- Frickin Iacocca- should have left lutz in charge instead of that idiot from GM Europe that knuckled under to Diamler.
Well I'm hoping a group of investors would take it back to an independent- so to speak.
