Yea, you guys got to see the preview of the new site while I was working on it last night. :) Glad you guys like the new look! To answer a number of questions that I'm sure exist:

1) Yes, all the current forum posts, attachments, and user accounts will be moved to the new forum software. Once it goes live, you should be able to log in with your current username and password.

2) The image gallery will return, and will be much improved over the old system (back when it worked.. ;) ). It's going to have a slick new interface, and will allow active members to upload images as well. It will support "tagging", so finding a specific image will be much easier.

3) The knowledgebase will get a major overhaul, with a lot of new content, some of which will be exclusive stuff to the Nest.

4) Classifieds will change just a little bit - we are going to go to the style that Moparts uses: a system generated topic for each group (cars for sale, parts for sale, cars wanted, parts wanted) per month, and then everyone will just reply on that topic.

5) Random variations of Bruce's cartoon B-bodies will be on every page.

6) Member's Rides (aka Reader's Rides) may make it's return as well. Probably not at the debut of RRN 2.0, but it's something I'm still looking into.

7) I don't have a date for the actual release of the new site other than to say we'll convert over as soon as it's done! :)

Yea, it takes a LOT of time to do this kind of upgrade. I'd say that personally I have around 40-50 hours into it right now, and there's still a good bit more to do. The image gallery is going to be a complete custom development, for example. Bruce has invested quite a bit of time doing graphic work, and Eric will be involved in helping get the new content put together for the knowledgebase.

Ok,

For those that missed it, here's a little teaser...

Yes, the knowledge base will be open to user submissions as well. Not sure exactly how we are going to implement that quite yet, but there will be some way.

I caught the tail end of it about 4:00 am. The quick reply feature is very cool.
