74 Roadrunner 4sp Value

Post by photon » Mon Jan 29, 2007 2:53 am

New to the site, Thanks for having me. I purhcased (saved) a 1974 RR factory 400 4spd car to trade a guy for a charger. I just have a few questions on the value of this car. The trade will consist of the RR and a 73 sat parts car that runs and drives now. I plan on keeping the 318 engine and the rims off the RR. I am not in the RR and Sat for alot of money. I was curious what true RR guys think the pair are worth. The charger is a project as well. However it is complete. I will post a link to see photos of the two cars. Thanks Photon P.S. does anyone know the production numbers for a 74 RR. Also the car has a posi in it and the motor and tranny are long gone.

Welcome to the Nest!

1974 400 4-speed are somewhat rare; 1 of 280 made.
Since 318 were the standard engine option for 73-73 RR's.
9,636 RR's were produced for 1974.

Hope this helps.
Also I see you have a green interior with black door panels on your car ... those are for 1972 Plymouths.

Thanks for the all the info. There are actually two cars photographed in the link I posted. The car with the black interior is a donor car for the roadrunner. It is a 73 sat with the black interior. I mainly bought it for the front clip. Again thanks for all the info I really enjoy the roadrunner site. I usually hang out over at dodgecharger.com.

Hi Jamey, You are correct. I called you and ended up driving down and getting the torsion bars the next day. Thanks for the help. It got the front end off the ground. Its to bad the tranny is no longer with the car. If the deal falls through with the charger I will give you a call. So what do you think of the old thing?

i think it looks pretty good, but without the engine/trans, plus all the work she needs, i would be hard pressed to give probably what you want for her.

All I am really looking to get out of the thing is a 2nd generation charger project. Dont get me wrong money in the bank would be nice. However 1, 2, 3, 4 years from now that money would be gone and I would have nothing to tinker with, kick tires, and have any rust to complain about. When it comes to the 4sp. I know of one from a 69 RR that could be bought at a fare price. I have come to the plan if I could trade for something else, that is my first option.

I dont know if my trade for the cars will pan out. As with most car deals it sometimes takes a little time. I do have a link to see photos of the car. Tell me what you think. It is a project but a good running 73 sat is included in the deal. P.S. May have to log in to walgreens to see the photos. It doesnt require any personal info other than email.

The first link I posted worked. I was told that it didnt work the first time, so I reposted them. I guess it must have been an isolated situation when the link didnt work for the person.
