Wow! It’s been about a year since my last update. Sorry about that. I did get some things done in that time. I also separated my shoulder back in August, that had me sidelined for a bit I had to get a replacement trunk as mine was pretty messed up. I took the replacement one apart, primed with epoxy and put it back together. I also had to add a 1/16” tig rod (welded on) to the edges. No matter how much I tried, I could not get the quarters and trunk lid to have a closer gap. I also leaded in the quarter seams and got most of the car in epoxy. Recently I have been working on the doors. Like the original trunk, damage and rust were hidden under tons of bondo. I took the doors apart, patched the issues, removed and/or treated the rust and got everything in epoxy. I also had to remove a large area of surface rust on the roof. Having a rotisserie made this a bit easier. I flipped the car over, built a tent around the roof with a plastic bin filled with Rust911. With a sump pump attached to a sprinkler, I ran this solution for about 24 hours until the rust was gone. Worked awesome.
