I talked to the current owner of my old 71 Roadrunner. He seems willing to sell it back to me or trade for a 65 to 70 Mustang fastback styled car....problem is, is that he wants $5000 for it if he sells it to me....I want my old car back, as it was my first real Mopar....its just gonna be a hell of a shuffle to try to get it back in with the rest of the herd....

If it's in decent condition, $5K isn't a bad price.
Go for it

You may never have a chance to get this car again. You will probable regret it if you don't pull the trigger. At least you know where your first real Mopar is. Most of us figure ours was recycled scrap long ago. Go for it while U can.

Yep. I agree, go for it! My first Mopar is what started it all for me. I'd LOVE to have that car back ('70 Challenger SE), but it's probably become a Toymotor by now...

Boy, I wish I had your problem

if it was me I would do it, the price is good depending on the condition.

My problem is that it is several thousand dollars that I dont currently have to work with, the car is several thousand miles from where I am currently at, and several thousand miles from where I am going.....

I'm planning on moving from Alaska and haven't much $$ to play with....hopefully the car will be available when I am finally moved and resettled. I would really hate to lose it again....Time will tell though!

If it means any where near as much to you as mine does to me it wouldn't be a question, you would get it back regardless. My Roadrunner is my first car and it is not for sale for any amount ever.

Regretably, I have decided to pass on it....I got too many irons in the fire right now as it stands and too much going on right now in my life. When a car that you have previously owned presents itself twice to you....its hard to turn down....but I must.

If anyone is interested, I will pass along the information along to whomever.

Tell you what.... you have a '71 GTX 4 speed car, which was my first real muscle car, and which I have been looking for one similar to my old one..... why not sell that to me and free up money and resources for your old 'Runner?

I was reading this whole thread thinking the same thing your doing, sell a project car or two from your list of cars, and make it happen. People dream about things like this.
