My roadrunner story.

Let me start off by saying that this is a very cool site, and I thank everyone who helped create it. There is a ton of information here, and I am sure I have only scratched the surface.
I came here back in 2011, right after I traded for a 1971 roadrunner. I was, and still am, a newbie, but you guys helped me a lot. I am always looking for that next project car, I have been thinking of getting rid of my roadrunner, and get another Mopar, maybe challenger or charger. I was close to trading a couple of weeks ago, and I was also close to buying a 1970 roadrunner that needed a full restoration. 3500 for the car, untold how much for parts, bodywork. Engine work, the whole shebang, could easily hit 20,000.
Then I was looking at this website one night, I admit I haven't been here in a while. But I found myself here one night. Looking at the cool, different roadrunners, reading about the fondness that you guys share for these crazy, but cool, b bodies. And I just realized. I have one of the coolest cars Mopar ever built. It's sitting in my yard, and I am neglecting it. Shame on me! I had to do some serious work to the car, and I still have a ways to go, but, it is drive able, it looks like a 10 footer. Why not keep it, put less money in into it, and just enjoy what I have, while slowly, restoring it. That is what I intend to do!
This may seem lame, but I just wanted to express myself here, for the new found excitement my car has given me, and to say thank you, for providing a very cool, website. Thanks!

I am with you! I too have thought about selling the road runner and getting something else that was in a more ready to go state than mine. Then, I look at it, realize that it is one of the best and probably rarest body style mopars out there and I drop all thoughts. I love this site too. Get information I can't get anywhere else, give input when I have something to say and look through the pictures.

I 2nd your thought.

Don't get rid of, Add on! I started with a Charger then Challenger then A Road Runner.

I ve got a few projects already. So, I would love to add on, but it makes more sense to me, to finish these first.
But, yeah, I love collecting cars. :0)

I have actually been very fortunate to have had some pretty cool cars, including a 1970 challenger fc7 rt/se 383, 1970 340 cuda fm3/ v4m, 1970 charger rt 440 very rare fj6, that was stolen from me a few years ago, from a restoration shop, I had 75,000 dollars in it. It recently sold on eBay. 2 known to exist. That one stings a bit, but there's nothing I can do about it.

1970 charger rt 440 very rare fj6, that was stolen from me a few years ago, from a restoration shop, I had 75,000 dollars in it. It recently sold on eBay.

Stolen or you couldn't pay the bill? I'm confused.

What's to be confused about? I paid 40,000 for paint and body work, which is what I was quoted. On top of that, I paid 6,000 for engine transmission rebuilt, plus I paid 35,000 for the car. Long story short, he stole my car. Put a lien on it, I was never notified by certified letter, or any letter, for a chance to cure lien, or go through legal channels. I don't need to get Into specifics, but suffice it to say, I believe it was stolen, and in that thought, I have built my own shop, so that I do not have to worry about being swindled, in the future. When you lose that kind of money, in a so called investment, it stings a little. I am moving past it now, and I feel pretty confident that the thief will reap what he sows. Anyway, I have a pretty cool roadrunner, and no one can steal it. Ha!

FWIW, I was confused too. All I understood was that your stolen car just got sold on ebay... thanks for the clarification...

I'm really sorry to hear it too...I'm fighting my own battle, but nothing that bad...

My car, stolen 3 years ago, was just sold on eBay last month. I do not see what is confusing about that. Lol.
Anyway, I working on making my RR bada$$.
